Casmara is a renowned premium cosmetics laboratory, known for creating and manufacturing unique and exclusive formulations aimed at helping our customers achieve their best selves. Combining tradition and experience, our firm boasts a half-century history, where family serves as the primary driving force and the cornerstone of success lies in the quality of its formulas and continual innovation.

Our journey began in Valencia, Spain, in 1974, when couple Águeda García and José Sequí ventured into the realm of cosmetics. In 1979, under the banner of “Cosmetics Without Limits” and following a substantial investment in RD+i, they pioneered the unique and authentic Algae Peel-Off facial masks, sought after globally, now emblematic of our brand.

Today, Casmara can be found in more than 80 countries and is a world-renowned cosmetics brand.

We remain rooted in our origins and raison d’être; marrying tradition and experience with innovation and modernity. In our DNA, the Mediterranean essence endures, reflected in our fresh, effective formulas and natural technologies aimed at empowering our consumers to become their best selves.

We’re familiar with the Casmara story; a story born from passion, perseverance, and family. But where does the name Casmara come from?

Some speculate that, given our privileged location in Valencia, a city nestled on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, and being a company rooted in what would later evolve into a family, the name might stem from combining two words: Casa (Home) and Mar (Sea), conjuring the image of a serene, rejuvenating space for self-care.

 

However, while this could indeed be the name’s origin, the reality is that Casmara is derived from an anagram of the Spanish word “Máscara” (Mask), a clear homage to the Algae Peel-Off Mask, our company’s flagship product that gained global recognition.

 

As for our symbol, the butterfly, it represents the metamorphosis they undergo—a profound transformation through various stages until they achieve stunning beauty—an inspiration for us to continually strive for our best selves.
